Events & Speaking

A Message Should Be Worth the Time It Takes to Hear It.

Before I became a general contractor and real estate developer, I became a nurse.

Nursing taught me how to listen closely, communicate clearly, stay grounded under pressure, and understand that every interaction should serve a purpose.

I bring that same philosophy to public speaking.

I do not take an invitation to speak lightly.

A stage is not simply an opportunity to be seen. It is a responsibility to serve the people who have chosen to listen.

Time is precious.

Attention is valuable.

And if I am invited into a room, onto a stage, or into a conversation, I want the message to offer something useful in return.

That might be a new idea.

A practical framework.

A different way of seeing a familiar problem.

Or simply the encouragement someone needs to take the next step.

Speaking Is Service.

Public speaking is not a money grab for me.

There are many ways to make money.

There are many ways to build a business.

But when someone gives you their attention, you have been given something that cannot be replaced: their time.

That matters to me.

I will not accept a speaking opportunity simply to fill a calendar or collect a fee. The message has to align with the audience, the mission, and the purpose of the gathering.

I need to understand:

Who am I speaking to?
Why are they in the room?
What are we trying to accomplish?
And what can I contribute that genuinely moves the conversation forward?

That is where the work begins.

TED has always represented something bigger than traditional public speaking to me.

At its best, it is about thought leadership, curiosity, challenging assumptions, and introducing ideas that may shape what comes next.

The opportunity to take part in TEDx Logan Circle in Washington, D.C. was an extraordinary honor.

Sharing that stage in our nation’s capital alongside eight other thoughtful and accomplished speakers reminded me why ideas matter.

A meaningful idea can change the way someone sees a neighborhood.

A career.

A community.

A problem.

Or even themselves.

The preparation required for TEDx also reinforced something I already believed:

A powerful message is built.

You research it.

You refine it.

You challenge it.

You remove what does not belong.

And eventually, you arrive at the idea that deserves to be shared.

Your Stage Matters Too.

Not every meaningful stage has a red circle beneath it.

Some of the most important conversations happen in conference rooms, classrooms, churches, community centers, workshops, nonprofit gatherings, industry conferences, leadership retreats, and neighborhood events.

Whether there are twenty people in the room or two thousand, I approach the responsibility the same way.

If you invite me onto your stage, we become a team.

I want to understand the purpose of your event, the people you are serving, and the message you want them to carry with them when they leave.

Together, we can create something memorable, relevant, and worth their time.

Let's Build the Message Together.

A great speaking engagement should not feel like a speech dropped into the middle of your event. It should belong there. That means understanding your theme. Your audience. Your goals. And the larger conversation you are trying to create.

We will work together to shape a message that complements your event while still bringing an authentic perspective to the room. Because the goal is not simply to speak. The goal is to contribute.
